Lucy's on the team for the Brighton2Brussels bike ride!
UPDATE!! Fundraising page here. Please sponsor me!
Having not really done that much cycling for the past few years (I think I cycled to work on my beautiful Bobbin Brownie about 5 times last year), I've signed up for the Brighton 2 Brussels charity bike ride, organised by the Brighton and Hove Property Consortium, in early May. We will be cycling approximately 150 miles over 4 days in support of Albion in the Community, Martlets Hospice, The Clock Tower Sanctuary, RISE and The Sussex Heart Charity. More information on these great charities can be found on the Brighton2Brussels website. I will of course be setting up a fundraising page shortly and if you'd like to sponsor me that would be amazing!
I'm very much looking forward to the challenge of training for and taking part in the ride, which takes in the Koppenberg Hill Climb (can't wait!). I've never ridden a road bike before, apart from the baptism of fire test ride around Liverpool Street (worked out how the gears work eventually...), but am heading out for my first ride on Saturday on my new Pinnacle Dolomite and have planned out a pretty daunting training schedule for the next few months so watch this space. Can't believe I'm a two bike person suddenly but as I've been reliably informed by fellow team mate Jo Shepherd of Symmetrys - "There is an equation that cyclists use, N+1, N being the number of bikes you need plus the one you always wanted".
So there you go. See you on the track sports fans.
